| Dear Saints;
The
meetings in China could well be defined as a journey with a rough and
starchy beginning yet with a smooth and overflowing conclusion. The
fact is that the said meetings were close to being aborted due to the
absence of the expected interpreters who for some reasons or
circumstances were prevented to take part in the early stage of the
convention. Indeed, the speakers and the participants were altogether
caught flatfooted in the first two days. But there was a deep call
from the hearts of the Chinese believers that God couldn’t help but
to respond.
Truly,
it was the hand of the Lord who inspired a brother who is a professor
in one of the universities to be in the meeting. With a very little
exposure in translating, the said brother was encouraged to do the
interpreting and served as the ice breaker for the meetings to be
pushed through. There’s another brother
who’s fluent in English and was willing to support the cause but
could not because he worked in a distant city came surprisingly at
the height of the meetings because his employer assigned him to the
same city where the conference was going on. That provided a momentum
that the conference took its natural course and kept on till it came
to a close. Then two more interpreters came out into the open and who
then could stop the work of the Lord?
Ministers,
workers and believers from several cities flooded into their chosen
place of venue to convene in a ten-day joint fellowships and
ministers meetings. Several Filipino ministers were invited to speak
and to participate in the said meetings.
Three
meetings everyday seemed to be not enough for the ministers and
believers whose display of spiritual thirst was so evident. A
miniature ministers meeting was also done in reply to the brothers’
request which they said was of great help and encouragement for them
to dig deeper into the Message as there’s more to it. The ministers
collectively decided to do it regularly among themselves in order to
help each other to stir up the spread of the Message in China.
The
Chinese brethren said this is the kind of conference they have been
praying for such a long time. The brethren convened one month prior
to the said meetings to come up with the agenda and questionnaires
that would be discussed during the conference and did inform the
speakers in advance for necessary preparations along with the formal
invitation. One of the ministers said, “Had I not come, I could
have missed such a heavenly experience of my lifetime. I’m glad I
did.” Another pastor told the Filipino ministers, “These
meetings will have a great impact in China in general and will
definitely bring a new complexion to the ministry in particular.”
Every
participant testified about the supernatural presence of the Lord
felt in every session in the entire duration of the joint meetings
that such a fellowship so hard to start twelve days ago is now
heartbreaking to stop. In fact, on our way to the airport, a number
of calls were received from the believers asking if the meetings
could still be extended.
The
Filipino ministers would like to thank all the brothers who helped
for their financial participation and all the believers who prayed
for the realization of this trip.
